Jooyoung Lee focuses on the process of perception through language in the post-truth era. Lee interrogates issues, particularly concerning the disconnection and bigotry belief, in individuals, groups, and society. <Blackwater> is the installation work using human movement and space based on language data in the news. Using poetic drawing, sound, and object, Lee examines how the omnipresent media language affects daily life. This presents a contemplative poetic space in combination with the poem-sound work <Wavelike Truth, With a Gust of Wind>. Lee encourages the audience to move by themselves and hopes they explore and critique the distortion of truth and established passive perceptions.
<검은 물>은 뉴스에서 다루어지는 언어 데이터를 토대로 공간과 동선을 이용한 설치작업이다. 탈진실 시대에 무한하게 생산, 배포되는 뉴스와 허위정보, 그안에서 발견되는 왜곡적인 언어형식들에 대한 은유적 시를 기반으로, 만능적인 매체 언어가 일상에서 체현되는 점을 시적 드로잉, 텍스트, 벽돌 오브제 등의 다양한 형태로 전환한다. 이는 시-사운드작업 <파도같은 진실, 거센 바람과 함께>와 어우러져 하나의 사색적인 시적 공간을 제시한다. 이들은 관람자에게 스스로 동선을 이끌어내면서 왜곡과 수동화된 인식을 탐구하고 비판할 수 있도록 유도한다.
